Review of Bāhubali: The Beginning (2015) by Pradeep V — 09 Jul 2015
Excellent visuals, terrible direction, acting and writing. It's strange to watch such an obviously expensive film come across so amiturish.
Bollywood has got to stop having their actors react to situations w/ cartoonish expressions and lines. It takes the viewer right out of the story and feels more like a play than a film. It's like they write so there's an excuse for people to randomly break out in a dance. Every film...same thing. Stop the dancing, fake reactions and sub par acting. It comes across as insincerity and forces the audience to roll their eyes.
Bollywood has come a long way in the past 5 years. Every film has moments of brilliance, but only moments.
