Review of Bāhubali: The Beginning (2015) by Mayank A — 10 Jul 2015
Better than I expected. The plot is old and predictable, the storytelling like any other Indian melodrama, the focal point of the movie are the special effects and fight sequences, which at times are silly, other times beautiful and at times masterful. Among the few Indian movies which gave me goosebumps with the artistic sequences supported with appropriate background score and rousing emotions.
Be aware, it's a Telgu movie dubbed in other languages, so the dialogues and lip sync are not good. Also it has two parts, so the story will be left in middle. Many will feel its B grade compilation of all the special effects done by Hollywood but got to realize in the end it's an Indian production and an amazing effort for what they try to achieve.
