Review of Azumi (2003) by Khanh D — 09 Nov 2007
Silly and very violent swordplay story from the director of the occasionally fun samurai/zombie movie Versus, Kitamura Ryuhei. Kitamura has a tendency to have his characters strike poses and stare angrily into the distance for looong stretches of time, and like Versus this movie could easily have been cut by 15-20 minutes and been a lot better.
Still, it's all fairly enjoyable even if Ueto Aya is not the most convincing swordfighter. She is, however, easy on the eyes and that's what matters.
