Live action cartoons are a real hit or miss for me. Azumi was an assured miss pretty much right from the get go.
Sometimes fun to watch the swordplay, though there was no real vibrancy to that thanks to mundane cinematography which could not capitalize on the choreography. All in all it felt like a Japanese "masterpiece theater" on steroids. Not my cup of tea this time.
