Review of Azumi (2003) by Kevin P — 01 Jan 2009
I liked this completely fictional action flick based in Tokugawa era Japan. But I am biased, as one of my friends plays a major role... Ryuhei Kitamura is completely in control of the story and the action, and has gone on to direct some crazy movies, even in the U.
S. Also, as far as I know, this was the first hit featuring the cutie Aya Ueto, who is now one of the most recognizable female faces in Japanese showbiz.
