Review of Azumi (2003) by Talitha B — 10 Jul 2009
The cover for the DVD looked really really hip and the young actors were really really cute. The beginning is really really tragic and then kind of roller coaster rides between good and bad. In a way, I really liked so many elements of this assassin fantasy, like a manga copy of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
But there was something slightly homophobic about the representation of the villain, and some hokeyness that made me like it less than I wanted to.
