Review of Azumi (2003) by John S — 15 Aug 2012
It's got fun insane violence like a teenager's wet dream, but the various idiosyncrasies such as the lapses in logic, cheesy moments, and bad effects are rather displeasing. Azumi is commendable for having a non-predictable plot and some rather interesting themes even if the plot isn't thoroughly enthralling and the themes aren't fully explored.
In the end, it's the slick style and crazy fight scenes that save the film from being a total mess.
