"Azhar" doesn't fixate completely on the cricketer's personal or professional life. It is sheer Bolly-mash inspired from a few real-life incidents. There is neither the dramatic flair, nor the thrills.
Songs are the only savior here (along with an okayish Emraan Hashmi), but they too did not necessarily drive the story any further and ended up as mere filler.
