Review of Away We Go (2009) by Nicolas M — 17 Aug 2010
This is a sweet, cutesy road trip movie with a couple in their 30s expecting their first child. From director Sam Mendes it's wierd to see a movie with an optimistic flavour to love (see: Revolution Road and American Beauty).
It's a cool movie the two leads John Krasinski (The Office US) and Maya Rudolph show a nice chemistry with each other. It's interesting to note that this film also is one of the first major films to use 'green initiatives' such as the vehicles on set using biodiesal fuel and the caterers using ceramic, reusable dishes, etc.
It's not saving the world but I think their hearts are in the right place.
