Review of Away We Go (2009) by Dan B — 14 Mar 2010

Iâ??ve rarely revised my opinion of a movie so drastically while watching it. For the first hour or so I thought this was an utterly charming, beautifully performed and stylishly directed 30 something comedy, my only criticism being that it was perhaps a little mannered.

But the unnecessarily protracted ending is such a misstep that it undermined all that had gone before and threw my previous affection so far into reverse that I began to unlike parts I had previously enjoyed.

Shame, because itâ??s a near miss.
