Review of Away We Go (2009) by Jonathan H — 11 Apr 2010
Easily the best thing Mendes has done since American Beauty. A few of the stops on their road trip weren't very funny or engaging, and just involved characters who were over the top and quirky, but completely unfunny.
The second half of the movie has much more relatable qualities and emotional resonance. Kransinski and Rudolph have some of the best chemistry I've seen on screen in a while, and they're very enjoyable to watch even when the story was not keeping my interest early on.
