Review of Away We Go (2009) by Neeraj K — 04 Jul 2010
The film had a good concept but the reason why the film didn't work for me lies within that very concept. The film's protagonists are two thirty-somethings who are intelligent, witty and loving in a world full of exaggerated caricatures of human beings.
I understand the point of the caricatures but it came off as a bit weak. But the reason why I don't believe this film is a success is because of the nature of the protagonists. The film didn't make me care about their fate at all since I knew that being the type of people they are they would continue to succeed in life.
The film failed in drawing me into the world of the characters and therefore I wasn't completely invested in their journey.
