Review of Away We Go (2009) by Kareem Y — 15 Jul 2010
Some genuinely touching and hilarious moments - Maggie Gyllenhaal's scenes are the highlight - but it's ending is a bit too sappy and predictable for my liking. I would also have preferred the leads to be more flawed.
Krasinski and Rudolph basically just drift through this, and while you like them, there isn't much there apart from the dead parents thing. If the actors weren't so inherently likable, you could call this movie 'We Are Judgmental Hipsters And We're Having A Baby'.
