Review of Away We Go (2009) by David B — 11 Oct 2011
Falling squarely into the "Quirky Thoughtful Satirical Bittersweet Romantic Indie Comedy" genre, this road trip movie about family and parenthood is filled with lots of hilarious wacky pathetic characters (Alison Janney's bitch-mom taking the cake).
.. and although the film drags a bit near the end and, alas, is not even close to as brilliant as Sam Mendes' debut effort of the same genre, it is very entertaining in its touching depiction of a rootless 30-something couple still trying to figure shit out.
