Review of Away from Her (2007) by Scott K — 31 Mar 2008
Poetry and literature brought painstakingly to life. Christie handles this role so delicately and masterfully, but Pinsent is the life of this movie- the choices his character makes and the unequivocal love he has for his wife is heartrending.
the cinematography and close up expression shots in this film communicate what the screenplay understates.I have to admit that this film was a chore to watch though. Although I'm glad I've seen it, it is not one I could readily return to any time soon.
And maybe that is just as Polley would have it.
