Review of Away from Her (2007) by Dana A — 21 Oct 2008
This is a gently heartbreaking piece of work, with two astonishing real, human, nuanced performances at the core.
Gordon Pinsent as Grant is still and calm on the outside yet tormented and shattered within. Julie Christie is radiant and noble, and her loss of 'herself' is at turns both devastating and strangely liberating. It's making me cry just to think about it again. Please see it.
