The best depressing movie I have ever seen.
The performances are beautifully understated. Julie Christie is simply amazing. More than anything, the movie is life-affirming through showing the dedication and love of in a relationship confronted with a terrible loss. The use of K.D. Lang's version of "Helpless" over the closing credits is perfect.
