Yup I would have to agree that this movie is equivalent to a fully-developed novel...the story is exceptionally simple but subtlely written-- a full, silent observation of human life esp during the late old years; the performances from the main cast are exceptionally notable and they did alot to bring more detail out of the story (btw christie is probably the most beautiful 'elderly' lady I have seen in film for years).
..this is a must watch for 2007 and if I were to compare this to 'the notebook' I would say this is 10 times better.
