Review of Away from Her (2007) by Ceily H — 13 Mar 2009
I was surprised to see that this movie was based on a story by Alice Munro, one of my favorite authors. The film, though well acted in general, had a real made-for-TV movie feel. Which might be due to support for the film coming from Canadian broadcasting.
These people approach life so coolly. Perhaps it was realistic. But it was missing something very important for me. Julie Christie, at 65, is still one of the most beautiful women in the world. Favorite character: nurse.
