Review of Away from Her (2007) by Andy P — 26 Jul 2009
A compelling story of a husband and wife struggle through alzheimers. Julie Christie delivers a heartfelt performance as Fiona, but for me, the real heart of the story and surprise was that of Grant and Gordon Pinsent's performance.
He is the emotional anchor of whose eyes we see the events through. And he shines. Also, kudos must be given to Sarah Polley, who not only shows great skill as a director, but by given the film a distinctly Canadian feel to it.
