Review of Away from Her (2007) by Bryce C — 25 May 2010

Having close relatives that have gone through Alzheimer's / dementia, the topic is a difficult one to swallow. This film thrives based on the performances from all, but I felt it was hurt greatly by bringing adultery into the picture.

I can understand talking about it as something in the past such as in the scene where Grant wonders if it's punishment. That was poignant. But later in the movie, it didn't feel honest, and it took away from how I felt about Grant.

Otherwise, this was a well-made honest film.
