Considering the title and plot, you could think "Awake" would mainly take place in a persons mind, lying on a hospital bed completely aware of the surgeon's knife in the body. It would most certainly be repetitively boring so I'm glad it didn't.
In fact, this is a unique and pretty entertaining thriller.
