Review of Awake (2007) by Kyle M — 02 Aug 2009

A mind-numbing piece of film that despite a solid idea, simply seemed too cliche at times for me to really bite. Despite a half-decent cast, the acting was sub-par, along with minimal character development made this a bit of a disappointment as this movie had definite potential as a thriller-type film.

Outside of the "surprise" halfway through the movie, the rest of the script was mediocre and predictable. I found myself mentally predicting the next scene and more often than not being correct in my assumptions. As with most movies these days, the conclusion of this one did nothing to enhance the mediocrity or with that the film had been longer. In fact, the only saving grace to this movie was the fact that it was only a little over an hour long.

Don't waste your time on this one, there are far better ways to spend an hour of your life.
