Review of AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) by Mloy X — 01 May 2012
Alexa 'Lex' Woods (Saana Lathan): [Rousseau is loading a pistol] Seven seasons on the ice, and I've never seen a gun save someone's life.
Adele Rousseau (Agathe de La Boulaye): I don't plan on using it.
Alexa 'Lex' Woods (Lathan): Then why bring it?
Adele Rousseau (de La Boulaye): Same principle as a condom. I'd rather have one and not need it, then need it and not have one.
I like it but then again I'm not as particular as the die-hard fans of the franchise, so I can appreciate this film without preconcieved prejudices and in blissful ignorance of the Alien or Predator lore. I do like how the franchises revolve around strong female lead characters but still, no one can kick ass like Ripley. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed watching this movie. It was entertaining enough and action-packed like the other Alien/Predator flicks.
