Review of AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) by Sam C — 25 May 2012

Alien Vs. Predator is a horrible movie that had a good idea but is ruined by almost everything in this whole movie. Alien Vs. Predator is about Weyland industries and it's discovery of a pyramid in Antarctica.

This is not a normal pyramid and that's why Weyland put's together to see what this pyramid is all about. However they are not the only ones interested in this pyramid. Two alien life forms, the Xenomorphs and the Predators, are in this pyramid because of a battle that has been going on since the beginning of time and this research group is in the middle of it, can they survive? The first two Alien movies are classic, the first Predator movie is also a classic.

One thing that these three movies have in common other than that they are classic is that all three films have some crappy sequels. The problem with Alien 3 and Resurrection is that they were boring, had a stupid story, and bad action.

The problem with Predator 2 is that it had a stupid story, bad cast, and only relied on the action. Now the idea of putting these to franchises together may sound cool but in reality you just get the Alien sequels and Predator sequels put together.

One thing that made me really mad is that the Xenomorphs and the Predators are two of cinemas greatest creatures and putting them in a movie could be a great idea but instead you just one hundred minutes of crap.

The movie's story goes just like any other horror movie made these days, a group of people that you don't care about running around getting slaughtered. This could have been enjoyable but this movie has a PG-13 rating so there's no gore at all.

Another thing about this story is that it's really predictable since it runs like any other horror flick. There are also some pretty dumb moments in this movie, especially the reasoning why the Predators and Xenomorphs are fighting.

This movie also fails to entertain because of the movie's stupid action . The only good thing about this movie is the so-so special effects. Just like the terrible sequels this movie has a horrible cast.

In this movie I just found Sanna Lathan horrible because the script tried to make her character something that she was not, they could have found someone else to do a better job. Speaking of characters this movie has some of the most stupid and pointless characters I've ever seen.

At the beginning of this movie these characters were all brought to do something but later on I just kept thinking "why are they here?" because they did absolutely nothing. Overall AVP is a horrible movie that you could watch at your own risk.
