Review of AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) by Mitch C — 22 Dec 2015
I never understood the hate that this film receives. I understand that it stomps on the Alien franchise a little, as I am a fan of both the Alien and Predator franchise, but it really does nothing but enhance predator mythology and I have always seen this as more of a Predator film than Alien film anyway which is now somewhat fitting that now Prometheus makes it no longer canon in the Alien universe.
This film is genuinely entertaining to watch and follows a well structured story arc with visually pleasing CGI, sets, and practical affects, as well as characters that although are not too well fleshed out are actually somewhat realistic from a psychologically.
This is not to say that it was a great movie as it definitely has weak areas, but is by no means a bad film.
