Review of Avengers: Infinity War (2018) by Joaquín F — 21 May 2018
+ Thanos.
+ Thanos CG I.
+ Guardians of the Galaxy interchange is still top notch entertainment.
+ Thanos genocide of half the universe packs a bit of an emotional punch.
- Story and plot left me feeling indifferent most of the time.
- The action is once again the usual CG I infested punch, shoot, flying punch, explosion snooze fest.
- It's too long.
- I couldn't care less about Vision so his death had no impact on me.
Bottom line: in my opinion, this is a typical, clichéd superhero blockbuster with the usual constant one-liners, presented within a grandiose scope of major set pieces and a large ensemble cast that fools audiences into thinking it's something fresh and innovative.
It's not bad, it's just nothing truly groundbreaking. Entertaining? Yes. A masterpiece? Not at all.
