Review of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) by Bruno D — 25 Mar 2016
Avengers Age of Ultron is a solid sequel to 2012 epic The Avengers. While the film is overall a good superhero action adventure it did have a few of its problems. Tony stark being Ironman at the beginning totally ruins the end of Ironman 3.
I felt Ultron was a fantastic villain in this universe where good villains are scarce but his motivation to become evil while makes sense felt a bit rushed. The Hulk and Black Widow love story was a bit forced and unnecessary and unless they do anything with it in future films it just felt like it was there for the sake of having a love story.
The action was really awesome and the heres are as great as ever. My biggest gripe is that the trailers are a bit misleading making us believe the film was going to be a dark and brooding flick but it was a light hearted like the rest of the universe movies which isn't a bad thing but with Ultron being the villain I expected darker things to happen since in the comics he wipes out the entire team except for a few.
The film is overall really good and worthy of the Avengers and sequel title. Its a fun, entertaining summer blockbuster. 4/5.
