Review of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) by Reuben H — 31 May 2017
I thought it was a very boring movie. Every 2 dimensional character did not pop off the screen to me. I'm not a big fan of worthless little scenes of people sitting around making a bunch of retarded jokes about Thor's hammer.
I'm not really a big fan of villains that don't really even take themselves seriously. They constantly destroy their moments by slapping silly humour into the drama. Comic book dialogue has always been snappy and short, but to use that as an excuse is wrong, because comic book dialogue also know when to show restraint and allow the moment to be simply that.
Moments. This is an issue that began just after the first Avengers movie, the humour was executed perfectly in this film, it genuinely was. BUT that shouldn't be an excuse for every single film that followed it to deploy the same style.
