Review of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) by Adam H — 17 Nov 2017
A forced romance didn't help Thor 1&2 off the ground and it definitely helped lead this movie to fall face first into the ground. Not to mention Marvel's insistence to throw Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in our faces because they can use them in this title, this movie is an all around mess. What was charming and badass about the first Avengers team up is completely lost in its sequel, what we are left with im goes against everything the first movie stood for... doing what you think is best because you can. What did Phil Coulson "die" for if you won't act as a team? Well, not act a as a team unless you're playing janitor for your own mess you made.
This movies fight sequences are awesome, but the movie jumbles around trying to introduce new characters AND make us feel for them at the same time while also trying to bring humanity to the entire group, which just falls flat on its face. Not as bad as Thor 1 and 2 or The Incredible Hulk, but you can argue it belong in that conversation for "worst Marvel movies".
