Review of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) by Nate G — 19 Jul 2018
This movie is as great as anything one would expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (And, let's face it, they're on an epic roll.).
This film is the epitome of "never a dull moment". An ensemble piece at its core, it's action-packed and full of likeable characters constantly spouting clever quips. I like that. It doesn't take a comic book aficionado to appreciate that. (God knows I'm not one.).
It's PG-13 violence is palpable, yet mixed seamlessly with humor. That's an impressive feat. It's thoroughly enjoyable!
Sure, plot armor and other obvious tropes abound; I still barely know who/what Ultron is, but who cares? As far as action movies go, never mind sequels in the genre that defines "schlock," this is objectively top-notch entertainment.
(Marvel Studios: You are a great-action-movie factory. Bob Iger: You deserve your salary. Please never stop.).
