There's nothing like the first time, and there shouldn't be. What makes a sequel great is not trying to replicate the original, but picking up where it was left off and AOU does just that. Plenty of action and spectacular sequences to keep you on the edge of your seat, Joss Whedon's brilliant storytelling, amazing characters you fall in love with, all wrapped together in a beautiful artwork.
