Obviously a visually impressive film, but the plot is so absurd and full of holes, and the dialogue is so stilted and awkward, that you can't help but laugh unintentionally. A few examples: Jake "chokes" Quarich while they're both underwater holding their breaths.
The end of the movie leaves completely unresolved the ongoing destruction of the whole jungle millieu. The water people just disappear during the climactic end sequence... It goes on and on.
