Yes, the plot wasnt particularly complex, and there were a few clichés thrown in for good measure. Also, as with the previous film, all of the action and emotion occurs in the second half of the film, as was to be expected.
However, believe it delivered on beautiful cinematography, stunning visuals, important themes about how we should treat our oceans and the value of family, and laid the groundwork for the next film's plot.
