What’s the point of full 3-D immersion if the technology can’t play the movie without dropping frames? The framerate was so poor (at BFI Imax London even!) that the finale played like stop-motion animation.
There’s not much else to the film – simple emotions played at high volume with very little nuance to the characters or situations. I appreciate that global audiences will see a blockbuster movie that makes such a stark political statement about our own mistreatment of underwater life, but I can’t really recommend the movie.
I wish Cameron had all his technology taken away and just focussed on creating a good narrative that doesn’t overreach its grasp.
