Awhile back I bought a 3 pack of Winona Ryder films. What I found odd about it was that it claimed it contained 3 critically acclaimed films (Mermaids, Great Balls of Fire, and Autumn in New York), I had known that Mermaids had done quite well, Great Balls of Fire didn't do too shabby, but I knew that Autumn in New York was considered a failure. It bombed at the box office and was considered one of the biggest turds in Winona's career.

I figured I'd watch it and think it was ok at the most, but not be amazing. Perhaps it would even be laughable funny, but it wasn't. It was completely boring and totally unfunny. The only part I found interesting was that Richard Gere fucked a chick dressed as Holly Golightly on a roof. Now if that isn't a fantasy and a half for me I don't know what is.

This movie is incapable of holding my attention, I usually try to bare through an entire film so I can at least say I've seen the whole thing, but this was hard to do. The dialogue is poor and cheesy, character development is almost non-existent. Richard Gere is horrible, this is the only film I've seen him in, and the first impression wasn't very good. Even Winona I couldn't completely stand. Usually I can look back on a Winona Ryder film and say "hey at least she was cute", well she was cute, but that just didn't cut it this time around.

Totally uninteresting film, it deserves the reputation it gets.
