I was dubious after hearing what the critics had to say, but really enjoyed this movie in a nostalgic way. The epicness of it, reminded me of Gone With The Wind or the Australian miniseries of the 1980s like All the River's Run or Dirtwater Dynasty.
Nicole was a bit static but Hugh was great - very appealing and rugged. Brandan Walters was the star of the show though, as well as the vast outback setting shots. Really enjoyable, it did not seem like almost 3 hours running time.
