Review of Australia (2008) by Robert G — 29 May 2012

I will completely admit that this movie is very long and way over done. But overall it was a cool story. It was a little western, with and a little action mixed into a well told love story. It is only a movie that Baz Luhrmann could get away with.

He as a director has a history of going over the top and somehow it usually works. The story, also by Luhrmann, was just as good, over the top but it worked. The acting is excellent all around. Anchored by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman this is an all around well done movie.

I am usually not one for romantic movies, but with this mix of action and western I am not ashamed to say I liked this one.
