This movie was pretty bad for several reasons. 1. it was ridiculously long, at almost 3 hours 2. contributing to the ridiculous length, were the numerous logical ending points for the movie that are not utilized, its like the end of 'Return of the King' except its not even a little interesting.

3. I know this has been going on for a while with several women in movies, but Hugh Jackman, in this movie, is subject to a few 'gratuitous' scenes, one of which is where he ridiculously pours a bucket of water over his head, another is where he shows up to a dance and does this cheesy close-up smile.

4. it seems like Baz Luhrmann saw michael bay's 'pearl harbor' and was like, 'damn, I wanted to do that,' so he did this movie, except the problem with 'pearl harbor' was that there was too much love story, and guess what, this movie is like a film version of a Danielle Steele novel.

5. its just downright sad when Nicole Kidman is the best part of a movie she is in. 6. the bad guy in this movie was the narrator from '300' and this was just a terrible choice for him to follow up with, especially since his australian accent is pretty hard to bear.
