Review of Australia (2008) by Richard D — 08 Feb 2011
Exemplifying the good and the bad of what happens when Lurhmann tries to contain all his directorial energy into a story. Sweeping and dramatic in moments and trite and coy in others, overall it's a nice historical story that could have used some decent editing; where Brandon Walters steals the show; Jackman is manly; and Kidman is not quite good enough that you don't spend a lot of time wondering what she did to her face.
