Review of Australia (2008) by Billys. — 26 Nov 2008
As hard as Australia tries to be that Grand Opulent epic love story/western/war movie/social drama, in twenty years Gone With The Wind, Dr. Zhivago and Reds will still be the ones brought up in conversations.
Australia is a little of each- beautiful to look at, good acting, a stampede cliffhager (literally) and a aborigine child with a psychic connection to his all knowing grandfather who is also the films narrator.
It's a very good movie that just keeps pushing itself to be a great movie but it won't be mentioned in those conversations 20 years from now.
