Baz Luhrman's antipodean Gone WIth the Wind-style epic strives to do a lot in its bulky screen time. It's a western, a war movie and on top of that, a social consciousness movie. The latter is its most forced and least convincing element.
Nonetheless, it is an entertaining film and features a strong cast of legendary Aussie actors.
