Review of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) by John H — 14 Jul 2013
It's fairly enjoyable, and it's nice to see Austin Powers in the '60s themselves. But his quest to reclaim his mojo undos the character development of the first film, and despite some inspired new touches (fun with time travel, specific riffs on THUNDERBALL and MOONRAKER, Mimi Me) most of the jokes are rewrites of the first film.
Ultimately unnecessary.
