Review of August Rush (2007) by Kirby W — 14 Jul 2010

The Flixster synopsis says this movie has fairy tale elements. If so, they were largely downplayed. All I know is that "August Rush" is one of those films where, at the end, you know you will never see life the same way again.

There was something at the beginning I could have done without, but without it, the plot would not exist. (I can't say more than that about it!) Freddie Highmore is perfectly fitted for this role as are Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, & Robin Williams.

I'd never really seen Meyers in anything & was quite impressed by his acting AND singing. Keri Russell's been a favourite of mine for years, but her performance in this was outstanding! The whole cast --- Howard, little Ms.

Nash, all of the kids in the movie, Keri's & Jonathan's families --- all seemed perfectly cast. WELL DONE!
