Review of August Rush (2007) by Fred V — 18 Feb 2013
Despite the fact that Robin Williams plays in this film, it still turned out to become a beautiful, tearjurking adventure that you just love to watch. True, the utter unrealistic story (as in: "no way in hell this could have ever, ever happened!") and the lack of even trying to create a diversion as to how the story would eventually unfold makes the film pretty darn weak in a filmagrafic kind of way.
That's why I understand the critics, who are giving this masterpiece a lousy 37%: the film doesn't deserve it, but it still is strangely very understandable. I, however, go with the audience opinion.
This movie is just great, heartbreaking, very well executed! Trust me, if I say that about a movie with the always terrible, arrogant & silly Robin Williams in it, it must, MUST indeed be a great and unforgettable film! :-).
