Review of August Rush (2007) by Tomm. — 17 Oct 2008
This is a fairy tale without the fairies, elves, trolls, or talking animals. These screenwriters seem to prefer cliches and sentimental mush instead. An impossible tale with countless flaws and indiscriminate dependence on the abuse of artistic license.
A shame considering the appealing performance by the young Freddie Highmore as the musical prodigy as well as a plot idea and storyline that could have been so much more.
