Review of August Rush (2007) by Danny K — 11 Sep 2012
A refreshing take on Oliver Twist. August Rush proves that Indie flix can have happy endings. Sheridan's use of montage becomes a bit tedious at times, but it also serves as a platform for the music and the importance it plays in the character's lives.
Freddie Highmore is so goddam cute. Leon Thomas III nails his portrayal of Artful Dodger. Robin Williams phones in his version of Fagen. Pitiful. It's definitely worth the 15 bucks Blockbuster will charge you to rent it.
Is it 15 now or 20?
