Review of August: Osage County (2013) by Dean E — 20 Feb 2014
This film will be shown in acting classes for decades. Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep headline an all-star cast in a dark and funny tale of Midwest family dealing with tragedy and each other. With excellent supporting work from Chris Cooper, Julianne Nicholson and Margo Martindale, among others, the acting almost seems to overwhelm the story at times.
Often funny, occasionally frustrating, but never boring.
