Review of August: Osage County (2013) by Aman A — 14 Feb 2014
Ooh Meryl Streep, Aah Meryl Streep, Waah Meryl Streep. How do you keep doing it? How do you get better and better with each movie and at this age?! I was sure of Cate as best actress this year, and then you came along and I am so damn confused. This kind of acting just keeps you hooked on the screen, and it really doesn't matter what others are saying, feeling, or doing, you just was see this mad woman, Meryl Streep at her eclectic best.
The movie has some killer acting. It trudges along most of the time but that's okay. That expected. The characters are fabulous, and the emotions spot on. This funny accent Benedict puts on in this movie as well as fifth estate, is a bit putting off.
Don't go to this movie if you are looking to learn about life or family, or watch something new or something cool and interesting. Go to this masterpiece for the joy and thrill of watching characters live on screen through some inspirational acting. That's it.
