Review of August: Osage County (2013) by Bailey H — 06 Jul 2015

The reason that this movie probably didn't get better reviews is because there isn't really a plot. There is a plot of course, but it isn't a big one, it is simple and very understandable. The thing that makes this movie great is the characters and how complex they are.

It is a movie all about relationships, family, healing, and fighting pretty much. It isn't meant to take you on a wild adventure with a huge plot, but it is meant to make you connect with the themes, and to make you make real life connections with the characters and yourself, It exposes the true ugliness of families, and is quite realistic in my opinion.
